Random drives?

You ever jsut go out in your car for a drive?

Trying to save some pennies so was in on Saturday night, only had the car a week so not really exploited it yet if you like, jumped in it with the intention to go and have some reckless fun, drove about 20 mile up the motorway to clitheroe way I enjoyed some climbing tight country roads, fookin loved it, roads were empty, sun was setting, stil warm so windows down, no mrs to tell me to be careful, just sheep jumping out of my way, came home aboout hour n half later knowing id made the right choice buying the 182 :rasp:

How extreme of a random drive have any of you lot been on? Jumped in the car and realised your 2 hours from home? Stuff like that?

These are the best drives. I've just got in actually, been out for about an hour in the new car showing it all the local back roads.

Epic fun 8)

Loved it on the A-roads, I think when you go to over take in the clio is when you realise what they can do, I just know that 2 weeks ago if id of been in one of the cars being over took id of been grinning thinking I want one lol

Hell yes! All the time - I have the peak district on my doorstep so it'd be a shame not to use it ;)

In fact might take the cup for a blat on the peaks tomorrow night:cool:

Well im gonna be moving further into the cun'ry soon and pretty much in spitting distance of one of the best roads in the south, the A272.

Random evening drives are on the cards!

I go for lots of little random drives, Love it tbh.

But what really holds me back is i dont want to pay for the petrol, Even in my 1.2 lol!

Its best when you're on holiday from work, I once got in with the intention of a little drive and ended up 100 miles away sleeping in a caravan :D

All the time, car had 15k on the clock in December and now has 27k, uni commute was only 6 miles each way. It'd be rude not to with roads like this...

I prefer cumbria lol, suggestions ?

ps. I dislike syorkshire, nyorkshire FTW!

Plenty of good roads around Colne Valley, Sadleworth Moors, Calder Valley (my haunting ground) and the surrounding area. There are some good roads up near you around Otley/Stainurn way. Then there is the Yorkshire Dales near by and the Peak District. Shall I go on...

Otley is well known to me, that's aboot it unless you go oop north through ilkey skipton up to windemere. Thats my ground :rasp:

Can't say I do though Cunney, but I shall ;)

We're quite lucky in the NW, only alittle bit to Wales.

Roads around me are s**t! Even the country roads are never quite

I'll have to drive a good distance before i reach anything worth driving

Even though I've only got a 1.2, I do still enjoy going for b-road blasts. The go-kart type handling and lack of any sort of acceleration makes it safe fun.

One time I went out and was away for 2 hours lol used £15 worth of petrol. Didn't tell the mrs of course. There's some great b roads outside of Dundee.

£15 in 2 hours is good going lol, I had a full tank, after that blast on saturday I had 190 estimated left, was only out for an hour and was on 340 before I set off

That beats 75% of Yorkshire's roads straight off :(

Not a chance! The Yorkshire Dales is brilliant for the roads!

But yes, I love random drives. Pretty good around my area - The Strines, Snakes Pass, Holme Moss, The Dales, and a few good roads locally. Perfect car for it, too! On those sorts of road, a narrow, twisty 2nd/3rd gear one, not much else can keep up with a Trophy or infact any other Renaultsport Clio.

Most random drive ive been on was when me and car visited, oulton park, then down to london. Could not find any where save to park the car overnight so drove back home to durham.

Was epic.

Yorkshire ftmfw! Found some new roads last night that may as well be runways! There are some awesome awesome roads though. My 20 mile drive to work is a great drive too so it's never dissapointing going!

Used a tenner in an hour last night. In a 1.5 lol
