Random hose in wheel arch?

Earlier I was admiring my 182 Cup (as you do) and I noticed something underneath the car trailing on the ground. On closer inspection it seems to be some sort of hose which is poking through a gap in my inner arch – please see attached image.

Can anyone advise as to what it does and, more importantly, what it's supposed to be attached to?

As above, drain/vent for battery. It shoudl just be clipped to the arch liner IIRC that end.

Or if your battery doesn't have a vent then rip it off
