Rate me a tyre

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
I've only ever used PE2's on the 182 and fancy trying something different so I can fully rate the Michelins especially as they're about £320 cash. I'm only managing to get 18k miles out of a full set of 4 swapping fronts with rears every couple of months, and I need to replace my 2nd set before the weather gets worse as they're almost at the leagal limit.

I've narrowed it down to:
- Conti Sport Contact 2's @ £270 (never used a set but aren't they standard fit on the R26/R27?)
- Yokohama A520's @ £250 (Never heard of them but they seem to be a replacement for the A539's which I thought were really good in 15's on my 5 Turbo)
- Toyo T1R @ £265 (friends had them and say they grip well but don't last)

Can you please give me some feedback on grip levels and lifespan. I've already searched and read the 17pages of the tyre poll but would like some feedback on just these tyres

  53 Clio's & counting
well iv had bad experiences with the conti's and a had those yoko's on another car and didnt rate them

i can rate both the G/year F1's (which is what i have now) though tyre wear is high and the BF Goodrich G force profilers i had on my valver, were amazing and gripped like hell in the wet

I'm using PE2's and they are an excellent all round tyre.

Have had Yoko's A520 in the past (didn't realise they still made them). Excellent gripping tyre but not as long lasting as some tyres. Would buy them again though.
