rattles from gearbox at 4000 revs

iv got a clio 172 02 regitered, it rattles really annoyingly from the gear box at 4000 revs.

any ideas on how to get rid?

you sure its the g/box ? is it a buzzing vibration type noise as the revs fall back past 4000 rpm ?

sounds like the infamous 4K rattle. (the exhaust not G/box)

they all do it, do a search on here and spend eleventeen hundred million hours reading all the threads!

if it is between 3900 and 4200rpm in every gear it is the 4k rattle. Get it fixed under warranty, I did, new front / centre section replaced of exhaust.

swelch, I wanted to get mine fixed, as its 3 yrs warranty is up in June. All theyll do for me is contribute 50% towards the cost.

How old was yours, how did u sort it?
