rattling

hi guys my 172 seems to rattle from the rear, if i stiffen up the rear shocks the rattle seems to go but then im left with a very uneven rid

are there any bushes on the rear of a ph1 172 that could need changing?im on coilovers at the moment

the only bushes you have are the main axle ones which are pretty big. You would get more than a little rattle if they went.

Prob wont be this, but check that your boot lock isnt rattling.

if you have h+r coilovers or similar it is probably the spring platforms that are rattling. there is a bit of movement due to the thread.

ive got gaz coils on there at the moment, they will be off by next week though, the boot lock seems to be fine, but i dont get wh the noise goes away if i stiffen up the rear dampers?made me think there is a bush there which now i know there isnt
