RB 182 with reoccurring fault

Hey everyone,
My wife has a Racing Blue 182 CUP, and it's nickname is Pig.
This is due to the fact that it has an electrical fault that puts it into limp mode, about 2500 RPM. It had this fault 2 years back, due to the wiring loom having a fray in it somewhere i'm guessing, so instead of rewiring the whole car I made a link from the ECU to the throttle body which cured it for the 2 years mentioned previously.
However, it has starting doing it again. I've replaced the throttle pedal, cleaned the throttle body, checked the wiring and it seems to be ok (it may be a dry solder joint though).
Does anyone know of their or anyone's car doing this and what caused it?

Plenty of threads on limp mode here on CS.Any answers will be speculation untill you get the codes read.
Corrosion of the wiring in the throttle pedal circuit is a common cause, but not the only one.

I've had a good look around and found a few with similar issues, but no answers as of yet. I'm thinking corrosion or dry solder somewhere, cheers for replying quickly.
Damn French cars :p

Damn French cars :tongueout:
I have never had electrical problems with any French cars other than Renault`s & my current 172.
As you have already replaced the thottle pedal to no effect, take it to Mick at Diamond motors in Long Eaton,he will sort it while you go for somethig to eat and will charge accordingly.

The car, I found out, has had issues with this from new apparently, various recipts dating back to new with electrical gremlins. The first owner instead of fixing it properly just kept wiping the code and letting it do it every so often....

So the car went into an electrical specialist earlier, they investigated and found nothing wrong at all. They looked on their system and found a longish list of clio's and clio sports (Renault in general) with ECU errors that does this to the car, as in the throttle body, accelerator pedal and linkage issues all being symptoms of the faulty ECU.
It is getting sent off for reprogramming and if all goes well we will have the second 181 back on our driveway.

If it works I will post it on here 5 days from now apparently, when the garage gets the ECU back

Change of plan!
I've got hold of an ECU that matches the car. Much cheaper than a reprogramme so am trying that first. The likelyhood of the same fault being on this ECU too is very small (fingers crossed)
