Re-fitting steering wheel - wrongly

Had my wheel re-trimmed. When I took it off, I left the wheel straight before removal.

I've put it back on, aligning the 3 splines and yet when driving its wrong!

How the holy fcuk does that work. Its about a tenth of a turn off (about as much movement as you get before the steering lock kicks in).

Its too dark to take it all of again, will have a look tomorrow - but I can't have forced it on wrongly?!

They only go on one way iirc? Probs best to have another look in the morning!

Pretty sure they have master spline so they can only go on one way from what ive read

100% only go on one way so it's something else.
