Re-gassing a/c

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Well the a/c works, but i don't think its been re-gassed since it first went on the road... so 7 years now..

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Well i got quoted £45 all inclusive by Renault, which i thought wasn't too bad.

Should i shop around, or is that price alright?

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Kwikfit do it for £44.95 (but i personally hate kwikfit)

And i rang up a local garage and he sed im looking @ £75!!1

So i think i'm going to go to the stealers!

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Bloody hell, and i've been told the price to look for is around £30!.... having told by you guys its about £60-80, i'm well impressed with Renault!

That is very cheap for renault. I was quoted £80 by them, the swines. There is no way they are touching my car at all.

As for being told to look for an a/c re-gas for £30.00 Good luck with that ! Mates rates only imo.

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Well i've booked my car in at Waters Renault for Thursday for a re-gas for £45 inclusive. :) Good times.

Just requires me to leave the car with them @ 8.30 and have a wonder around Galleria for an hour or so :( Bad times.

Isnt Kwik Fits offer 'we'll lower the temperature by x amount of degrees or you get your money back'?

LOL at the Kwik Fit claims - they promise to lower it by 10%.

Let's say you start with the air on cold and it's pumping out at 10 degrees...after the re-gas they guarantee to get it down to 9 degrees? Big f***in' deal, 1 degree reduction! Like you're really going to notice that.

Yeah but at least you don't have to pay if it makes no difference at all, surely that's better than other places

But it will reduce it by 1 degree probably 99.999% of the time.

The offer is nothing more than clever marketing...I bet there's maybe 5 people in the entire country who've been able to have it done for nothing.

  a green 1
mine got done tied in with my 36k service, (359 all in renault bolton)

cant the aircon be harmfull if not changed every so often?

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Well not sure if it'll be harmful, but it is suggested to have it changed i guess.

does anyone know the actuall process of the work done?
not much of a priority for me but mine needs doing also

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
Isn't it just, basically taking out ur old gas, and cleaning it, then putting new gas in?

So true, clever marketing on their part. Their ad is annoying. Plus I wouldn't use them if they were the only garage on earth.

The guy @ Renault said during regassing, they put a dye in the system, so if there is any leaks in the system, they'll detect it with an ultra violet light.

Yeah but what's wrong with that, they're still cheap for getting it done compared to a lot of quotes in this thread

Machine will basically vacuum the system for about 20 minutes or so and then refill by a set amount. As said the dye is to check for leaks under UV light.

Free kit at work :approve:

Went into Renault @ 8.30am, left the car with them, so i went to Maccy Ds to grab some breakfast, and as my uni is near by, i went over there to check emails, and at 10am i walked over the the dealers again to check up on my car.

Its done Mr Tsang, brilliant! £45 later, my air con is cooler than ever, and they said they did a 25 point check up, which included the bonnet catch lubrication, i opened up my bonnet, but i see no lubrication! :S
