Re-programming a Clio key fob

for a Mk2 Ph2 is this possible?? If I buy a second hand one, i need a new blade obviously but can they be re-programmed to work on a different car?
I need a definitive answer as dealers want £95 for a new one! :dapprove:

Nope you need a brand new ones ones which are used are locked and cannot be resued.
£95 s bit steap. £40 for the unit £12 for the key and 0.40 hours to program.

They eed to plug the computer in and get the Hex code for the car.
Doesn't take that long but thats Renault figures for you.

i was quoted £60 for the unit and £35 for programming, I hope the £60 includes a blade to suit my car! lol!

not sure if this is any help buti work at nissan, the have a machine which i maintain called key fob matching, two fobs have there buttons pressed automatically and the controller s frequency is the matched to the keys. each fob has its own code which is embedded and cant be changed, however your controller can be made to suit the new key.

yeah cheers, i appreciate that mate but it's the controller which I need repalcing as the PCB is faulty. The actual key itself is fine and still opens the doors and starts the engine.
