Re-trimming 'A' Pillars

  Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique
looking to do this some time either this week or next (hopefully), ready for a new tweeter mount, but im not all that sure where to get the fabric from. i havent got a clue where my nearest half decent fabric shop is or anything!! i want to use a similar fabric to that on my door cards in my dynamic so they blend in well with the interior. its that plain kinda greyish/blue colour with the foam backing! does anyone know where i can can something similar??

(same as in this pic.)

cool. where did you source the alcantera?? they look so much better than the original silly light grey plastic ones in my dynamique!!

yeah, they do look awsome even if I do say so myself.

Got the alcantera from a local fabric wholesalers... £54 sq/m!!

trust me, that stuff isn't genuine. I bought some of the ebay "genuine" stuff to start with and it was shite... certainly not genuine and it cost me £35. ended up in the bin.

I bought 2 sq/m of the genuine stuff.

How difficult is it to remove and replace the A pillars?

I had a read of your thread on trimming them.. useful stuff! If getting them of and back on again is straightforward enough, I'll give it a go myself.

an angle grinder would help speed up the process of removing the A pillars... but they form a structural part of the car so be careful.

I think he must mean the A-Pillar trim.
So, in answer to your question, you pull down the rubber seal and pull the plastic trim off and at the same time press the clips that are located on the inside of the trim.
2 second job.

:rasp: Oops! No, I'm not planning on turning my 182 into a cab any time soon!

Cheers for the answer though.. I'll post some picks up once they're done.
