Can anyone tell me if this shift knob is real or fake, got it from eBay for less than a tenner.
That's like asking if God is real or fake.
No its not , its easy , thats fake , momo never make stuff that poor quality ,
Superglue? It's threaded inside and has the screws to hold it in place and does the original one not screw off?
Nope, they're all glued on and need to be hacked off,
unless you've got a ph1 172, pretty sure those one's unscrew.
No the original is not screwed, you'll have to thread the original one to get it to work, good luck!
Thanks, probably the only helpful reply I've had, how long do you think it would take?
I didn't mean the original one is threaded I meant the momo one
God knows, i've never tried cutting one off.
If I was you i'd get another gearstick from a breakers yard to try it on,
I mean you've got to hack the old knob off, then make a thread for the end of the stick,
I wouldn't want to try it on the stick I use every day to drive to work and sh*t.
When I meant original one, I meant the actual gear stick (youll have to thread it somehow), but I failed at replying correctly
So get a new stick from the breakers, put it in the car and put the new knob on that?
That does sound more practical tbh haha
If you know someone with a thread tapping tool you can make a thread for the end of the stick.
Hacksaw the standard one off and superglue the momo one on?

This is why you do the grease monkey sh*t
and I stand around looking good.
If it has little grub screws in it. Cut the original rubber one off, stick some self amigilating tape on the shaft of the levet, shove gear knob on tighten grub screws.
Done.

Seems like a lot of work to get a red knob.
I'm guessing the grub screws are the small ones that need an allen key
That's cool! Are they metallic blue floor mats I see?
