Can anyone tell me if this shift knob is real or fake, got it from eBay for less than a tenner.

Superglue? It's threaded inside and has the screws to hold it in place and does the original one not screw off?

Thanks, probably the only helpful reply I've had, how long do you think it would take?

God knows, i've never tried cutting one off.

If I was you i'd get another gearstick from a breakers yard to try it on,
I mean you've got to hack the old knob off, then make a thread for the end of the stick,
I wouldn't want to try it on the stick I use every day to drive to work and sh*t.

So get a new stick from the breakers, put it in the car and put the new knob on that?
That does sound more practical tbh haha

When I meant original one, I meant the actual gear stick (youll have to thread it somehow), but I failed at replying correctly :p

Ohh really? I thought the the actual stick was threaded haha yeah I'll probably just get a threaded one from somewhere or glue it on haha

If it has little grub screws in it. Cut the original rubber one off, stick some self amigilating tape on the shaft of the levet, shove gear knob on tighten grub screws.

Done.

I'm guessing the grub screws are the small ones that need an allen key

I'd just keep bashing away at it. See what comes of it.

If it comes to the worst, you'll end up with a sawn off stump that can be replaced by any Clio knob.

Wont ever be as cool as mine in my old MK1 with its flashing blue LEDS! haha

In all seriousness though, if its anything like the one i fitted to the mk1, you do need to butcher the knob off the shaft (oy oy! ;) ) and then the grub screws bit into the shaft nicely. I never had a problem with mine, except when the LEDs stopped working! I was gutted hahahaha!

So I've got to beat my knob until it falls off and then screw my new knob onto my shaft :| hahaha! I think I'll order a clio knob before I start hacking at the old one, guess I'm gunna have to have to Hoover handy as well

That's cool! Are they metallic blue floor mats I see?

Oh yes they were, RipSpeed as well I will have you know! ;) They worked a charm with the the Blue LED foot well lights I had fitted in the front and rear..and boot! The gear knob had blue LEDs as well and i replaced all the interior bulbs with blue at the time! haha. It was my first car and I bloody loved it!
