Really bad tyres - your experiences please

For the record, i've just gotmy car back and had a look at the rear tyres...

Event WL905 195/45/R16 84W Extra Load.

Oh well, they're coming off tomorrow afternoon

  Clio 172 Cup 03 plat
195 45 16

I'm also looking for tyres, have read all the above, live in scotland so need good tyre in the wet! Also prob doing 10 - 12 k a year, so wear is an issue. Price is not really an issue but is dependant on wear, cos I aint made of money.

Someone did recommend toyo proxes t1-r to me but i dont think so
exalto are expensive but how many miles am i likely to get p.s. only drive like a maniac half of those miles, and dont track (yet:evil: )

Also ive been looking at blackcircles, as they deliver and fit to a place i like (Hectyre), any other thoughts for where, price and tyre.

172s should be driven pretty hard ;) may as well. Especially as yours is a cup.
I never worry about all this "wear" balls, just worry about it later lol.

I've got some goodyear Eagle F1s GDS3s on atm. They are impressive. As far as good tyres that don't cost the earth go, I'd really recommend uniroyal (<<i think) rainsports. Stunning in the wet and good in the dry.

The original fitment (on the 172) was Continental ContiSport or something that sounds like that, these IMO are a good allrounder. Pretty good in both wet and dry, and wear well too.

I now have Conitsports on the rear and the car behaves so much better, i can't really comment on how good they are all round yet though as i've only done about 100 dry miles in them. They were only £69 each fitted at a local garage though which is cheaper than any online tyre supplier.

After all the research i did on here my short list was Goodyear F1 GSD3, Contisport contact, and Mich Exalto. In the end it was the cost that made my mind up.

  RS2'ed 172 Cup
Got a set of "Event" tyres on the front of my Cup. the only "Event" they will ever be good for is the "Understeer ditch finding Event" God knows how they can sell them legally, Anyone who runs these will die from an understeer related accident eventually!

Caused me to Skid across 3 lanes the other night when it was damp out, and i was only doing about 30mph!

  Laguna 2, Westfield
i had a set a pirelli p6000 changed straight away althoughim sure they had sat in the workshop for so long that the rubber compound had gone rock solid was like driving it on an ice rink in the wet and dry uter s**te never touched again on uniroyal rainsports now really like them

p6000 are cheap and crap, however Pirelli p5000 drago were ace on my old Fiesta RST.
The Michelin PE2 on my 182 are good as people have said... My daily drive Laguna did have Michelin Pilot Hx on the front when i got it(great tyre), when they wore out i replaced these with Dunlop Sport 2000E and they are really bad in the wet i have thought about changing them even though they arent worn out yet.
