Rear brake pad/disc wear

  Polo Bluemotion
I understand this is kind of an open ended question, due to lots of variables.

I know the front brakes do the majority of the work, but what is the general life expectancy of rear discs and pads??? Im upto 41k of reasonable driving, and ive just been informed that i have less than a 1mm of pad left on the back.

It just got me wondering if thats normal, late or too soon for that kind of mileage......

That will be 1 mm leaft till the wear marker. the pads new are only 6mm full thickness and you shoulnd't use them all the way down to nothing hence the point of a wear marker. I woulnd't worry much.

What does the wear marker look like? (given that i'll be peering through the wheel and the grime...)
