Rear Brake Pads @ 24K

  Subaru WRX/BMWe30 Touring

Just had my 24K service today and required to get my rear brake pads replaced. Thought that was a bit strange as I would have expected to have had to replace the front pads and not the rear ones (considering the rears shouldnt be used unless you have passengers in the back?). Queried this with the garage and they said "that they could only comment on the faults and that they didnt know why it had happened as they couldnt see any problem with the car".

Anyone else had to get theirs replaced at a similar mileage or just lucky old me?

Did renault carry out the service? They tried to pull that one over me everytime.

The front does most of the work and so pads wear a hell of a lot faster than the rears.

My car is 4 years old, its almost ready for its 3rd set of front discs and yet ive only just replaced the rears for the first time.

Tell them to fook off and fit them yourself!

Had my 24k service last month and was told my rear pads were 75% worn and wouldnt last till the next service.

I thought this was strange to, but havent had a chance to take a look yet.

Mine told me that at 24k, Ive only just replaced them now at 37k they probably had a bit to go in them as well!
