Rear demister not working?

Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone would know why this is, or how to fix it? The light comes on when you press the button, and the fuse definitely isn't blown? If someone could point me in the direction of the connector for it that would be great, only other thing I can think of...

I have noticed a couple of things though:
Firstly, the previous owner didn't change the wiper blades when they needed doing and as such the window is rather scratched...:

Secondly, in places the lines alternate between yellow and black, doesn't look right to me? You can see it on the first line in this photo:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The previous owner (Like mine) has had something on the parcel shelf that has been sliding around rubbing the demister circuit off the window. By the way, haven't applied it yet, I've put masking tape on either side of where it needs to be repaired, but just wondering how it ends up? As it looks really thick? Does it dry clear?

Yeah same as me, I've got really long 'black' bits as well so was just gonna put it on and see what happens. But reconsidering now depending on how the person above says it turned out... I'll let you know.

It will be thicker than the standard printed on circuit. It might work for the longer bits, I think it might be a bit hit and miss if it works though.

I was lucky as mine is only broke on the lower 2 or 3 lines, I have got the upper most line working but not the bottom 2.

The only other way to remedy it would be to purchase a new rear window or second hand tailgate with window.

Yeah, just the 3 bottom lines on mine were broken.

Yeah. Thanks, I think Im gonna have to start looking into that, would probably be best anyway seeing as how scratched the rear window is anyway.

Aren't the rear screens bonded in tho? Ie mega costly to have fitted?

I think I'm just gonna buy a whole new tailgate. Can get them relatively cheaply on eBay or from those breaking them on here
