rear drum removal

right need to get rear drums off to replace the bearing,

taken wheel off, got the cap off, and taken the big bolt off, the drum spins freely, but cant get the friggin thing off do i need to remove the circlip to get it off ?

Are there four bolts behind the hub, thats how it is on ford hubs not too sure about renault ones!

no the shoes are still binding, cant get them to release and its doing my head in, i need to get them off they wobble a bit but they just wont come off, im guessing there is some adjuster somwhere :S to release the shoes, but i cant find ne thing. just need to remove outer casing so i can get the bearings replaced...

Rubber mallet. Youll find the adjuster is on the inside! You could try removing the brake pipe but youll need to bleed the system again once you reconnect it.

hnmm well i need to bleed the brakes ne way might just go drain the f**ker

see if you can prise it off with a few screwdrivers.the shoes are probably stuck on the lip on the inside of the drum.you could try slackening off the handbrake to see if that helps(adjuster under car above exhaust, you may need to remove a heat sheild).draining the brake fluid wont release the drum.if you really cant get it off then youll need a hub/drum puller.you can get these for £5>£10 from somewhere like halfords.

if i get a puller will it damage the parts inside by pulling it off ???:S like the shoes and springs ??? if so how much is it likely to cost me :S

might pull the shoes off the retaining clip/springs.but you can normally refit them and new clip kits are only a couple of quid anyway
