Rear lights and speedo dials not working

Any ideas what this could be? Only noticed it tonight because I rarely drive at night.

Thought possibly fuse? Any ideas apprechiated.

Earth possible on the rear lights, pull the carpet behind the driver side out and clean the earth up, should sort that out, or try a fuse

If the dials aren't lit too then I doubt it's the earth really. More likely to have popped a fuse as it's the same one for illumination and the sidelight.

Do your front sidelights work?

Didn't check front side lights if i'm honest! I'm going to dig through the fuses to try them tomorrow. I should mention that the rear lights don't work but indicators and brake lights still do...

Checked today and the side lights don't work either.

Front side lights, dash illumiation and rear lights (not indicator, fogs or brake lights)

Done a pikey fix for the time being by taking front fog light fuse out and using rear fog lights as driving lights but still no dash illumination...

Think it could be the stalk?

It could be the stalk yeah as that's common between all three items.

I think I have one spare, but it doesn't have front fog option (basic model spec). Send me your address and I can drop it in the mail, will help eliminate whether yours is faulty or not?

Check the relays underneath the dash where the bonnet pull is, right below the glove box lid, exact same thing happened to mine and a mate had managed to kick one of them out.

Had a look and 1 was hanging down, I clipped it on to what looked like a mouting point as I thought it could be an earth, I don't know what I was thinking tbh and now it won't unclip off! I'll get a picture...

I reckon you've found the problem right there with the relay hanging off, get it back into the correct slot.
