rear load sensing valve- missing rod for MOT

  172 cup
my cup is in for an MOT retest today

they originally failed it on seized up valve linkage, so i wiggled it around and freed it up with wd40, now they are saying a conecting rod? that screws in is missing? i think they are saying its a rod that makes the vavle work

what are they talking about? :dapprove:

  172/1.2/E30
They don't have a connecting rod. There is some leaflet from the DVLA floating around here that you need to show your MOT tester.

What does the rear load sensing valve actually do?
Am I right in thinking this is the think that's attached to the rear beam, on the exhaust side?
Mine's broken, some same it affects brake balance, some say it only affects headlight beam adjustment.

on a NORMAL 172/182 then its the headlight level sensor, NORMAL 172/182 does not have a brake bias load valve (built into the ABS pump)

172 cup does have a rear brake bias load valve but its not connected to the axle

So out of interest how does the bake bias valve work then without the rod??? Is there a rod to buy for the 172 cup?
