Not meaning to invade your post but I am lowering my clio soon and will be replacing both front and rear shocks.

I seem to remember someone saying (cant remember who or when) that there are differences bwetween some 1.4 RT front shocks. The struts are different in some way. Can anyone shed any light? I am sure someone said that they bought a full suspension kit and the front shocks didnt fit.

Thanks for any help

its the bolt measurement, its either 52mm or 54mm, the rear setup is unaffected but if your going to buy a kit make sure you get the right one

also 16v/Willy rear shocks will fit on an RT and are obviously shorter and firmer

you should be able to get rear Bilsteins from Demon Tweeks, you can get 10% off if you know who to speak to

yea you do have to be accurate, but when i measured mine it was obvious which one is was

Cheers guys I knew the 2 measurements were 52mm and 54mm but I didnt know what they were for! (Where I was supposed to measure)

Thanks again

  FOR SALE - Mk1 V6

measure the distance on you current front shocks, as in the pic further up. you wont need to take it out of the car. just remove on of the front wheels and have a look.

Ive got P.I on mine from carnoisseur - 10% discount and dogs bollox service.

I agree with James on what he said about Carnoisseur - the service is certainly the best that Ive found and you get a discount too.

James, have you got the -55mm springs. Ive been thinking about getting those for mine cos Im running -40mm at the mo, and with the 15s on it looks like the standard ride height. Have you got a pic of yours if you are running -55mm springs so I can have a look.

Cheers

Rick

How much is the P.I. kit then and would you recommend it? I was going to get the Apex -60mm kit for around £230

if you want cheap and just as good as apex, avo fixed rate or even bilstien fixed rate.

get gabriel or the old Monroes......but not the new monroe sensatrac part oil part gas items.....

ask aaron, he is running gabriels and he loves them i think.
