Rear Speakers

  1.2 12V Polo 9n3
I drive a 3 door mark 2 phase 1 and was wonderin how you get into the rear speakers? do you just pull the plastic cover off or is there a special way of removing it? i didnt want to jus use force and pull it incase i broke it or something.

If its the same as a ph2.. then all u do is take the seat bench off, and u just pop off the cover.. thats all

I've removed mine by hand to clean behind (also ph1) They just pop off, if it needs a bit of persuasion use a flat object like a coin and gently lever it off.
The speaker is held on by star headed screws, there should be a screwdriver in your tool kit (in the spare wheel well) with the correct shaped 'bit' to remove the speaker.

finally got round to opening these up and guess what there was no speakers.
Had a feel around and when i put my arm down i could feel wires (or something that felt like a wire?) gave it a gentle tug but didnt seem to move much. are these the wires for rear speakers? or do i need to either hijack the front speakers or wire them to the h/u?

Any help appreciated

theres no space in the connectors though to add any more wires to it :S does this mean that there is wiring somewhere for rear speakers?

if yo cant find it dw about it and cut into the wiring loom using bullet connectors and then wire straight to the rears

cheers althought ive heard that the rear wires may be taped to the wires that run underneath so ill have a better look tomorrow. I was also thinking on getting these for the front and maybe these for the rear. Just wondered if these would be ok or if there is anything better for roughly the same price?

hi, i have similar surcumstances with my clio, being the authentique it only has front speakers, there are two main plugs on the head unit, one is power, and the other is speakers, (ignore blue scribble) the main socket with 8 pins on is the speakers, going left to right top to bottom 1-8 they are paired 1-5 2-6 3-7 4-8 and as far as i can remember;) the outer pairs are the front and the inner pairs are the rears, if you run two (twin core) cables down passenger side sill, then take one cable across infront of rear seats, as this is where the cars wiring loom runs, if it dont have the speakers in, then renault, saving money dont but the cables in:mad:

i hope this helps ;)

the alpine type r's are a bit out of my price range so i was thinking on infinity speakers with these at the front and these at the rear. What are your opinions?

Also does anyone know what the RMS is for the standard speakers?

i took out rear seats in my mk2, pulled off plastic side and removed rear speakers, cut cable and extended wires on both sides into boot then connected in my 6x9's so they were ran through the head unit, now i have my amp for them so the wires are currently doing nothing, gonna put them back onto just the 6x9's for when i sell car tho my amp's not going with it.

had a better look today and it seems i was right :D the connectors for the rear speakers were taped to the loom that i could feel underneath. Also took off a front speaker and connected it just to be double sure and it worked so all i need now is a set of speakers :D.

Also anyone else who has found they dont have rear speakers may want to look for this just stick your hand down and feel about the loom for a connector, its just held on with some black tape so it pulls away quite easily saves the hassle of running more wires.
