Recaro seat wear

I have the Recaros fitted to my 197 cup and I've noticed the drivers seat is wearing.

Does anybody know if this can be rectified under the warranty or will I have to fork out for it repairing?

I've tried asking an expert on the renaultsport site but it won't let me post it for some reason :dapprove:

Anybody else had the same problem?

Depends on the dealer.

Some will replace. Some will just ignore you.

iirc Renault have been changing excessively worn 197 Recaros.

thanks for info, I will ask my dealer in sheffield on monday and hope they don't laugh in my face!

Might ask them about the ecu update for pre may 08 197's at the same time

there was a thread about it on renaultsport with a list of people who had had the seats changed under warranty, maybe see it you can find it on the search? I've not been on there for ages so I cant link it, sorry.

Yeah it's a known weakness, dude. Don't be fobbed off with "wear & tear" stories. If they try that shizzle then ask them if getting in and out of your car is abnormal use.

IMO any issues like this, get RUK on your side from word go.

Have you got the Recaros and had problems with them wearing?
I've already been to my local dealer (Hylton Cheltenham) and after 6 weeks of not getting back to me I contacted RCS. After them finally hearing back from the dealer, CS told me that it was done to wear and tear and it won't be fixed.
Been to another dealer 2 weeks ago to see if they can get them sorted and not heard back so thats why I'm gathering info from similar claims/wear problems fixed to back it up.

Contact DavidRUK on RS he is the customer sevices main manager.
He sorted me out.

Not yet mate no, but I have the early signs. When I last spoke with RUK I mentioned I had the aerly signs of it and she asked if I wanted that looked at as well as she was aware of the issue.

Ryan got his changed with out any issues. The renault dealer in Sheffield is a t**t too..
