Recaro's are they worth it?

The reason i ask is that i am in the market for a racing blue 182 with Cup packs and i was pretty set on the Recaro's however finding a clio with them in is proving to be a nightmare/impossible!

So are theyh worth it?
or are the standard seats just as good.

lol
Dont want a trophy even though they sound fantastic because i dont liek the colour and want the luxuries of the FF model. Plus cup suspension will be enough for my needs i feel.

Any sugestions?

We would of prefered recaros when we were looking for a 182, couldnt find one anywhere especially since we wanted LY. According to the renaultsport website only 89 FF-182 were sold with recaro's

  182 Full Fatt!
Your patience would be rewarded! I couldn't be bothered to wait or to travel for them IMO!

i found new seats were better than the standard ones due to the ride height and the support it gives. I wouldnt stress too much about finding one with it it as you can do aftermarket jobbies, but my best mod was the seats i dont understand how people drive it with standard seats there position is terrible

Recaros are class. The normal 182 seats are just fine,But not a patch on the recaro's for looks or comfort

Hang in there

  LY V6 with Recaros
I've just bought some Recaro's for mine. They're look lush, although I can't comment properly yet as I don't have them in the car yet. Worth the money imo!

  Clio 182 cup
I bought my 182 in July and was lucky enough to find one with the Recaros in it. So glad that i did as well cos they look fantastic. They are a bit stiffer than normal seats but still very comfortable.

I think they just make the car stand out from other 182's and are definitely worth getting if u can.

Cheers guys i will just persevere then. I currently have a Citoroen C2 and i change both front and back seats in them and that wansnt to hard, just had to be carfull with the pretensioners. So worst to worst i can mod it later.

As you can see they sit lower (standard driving seat still fitted) The Reacaros are much better at pinning you in. I had these seats from my previous cup (bought aftermarket) :)

Depends what built you are I'd take the normal seats every time over the Recaro as Im quite tall so there rubish for me to sit in.

  VRS
as edde says, if your tall then they are naff as the seating position isnt any better than standard

they look better than standards and support you more but mainly due to the fact that standards are cack

as for value for money, they are worth it if you want a slight improvement over standard without opting for proper supporting race seats. 1200 quid buys you some very nice supportive sports recliners/buckets

i have a rb cup with recardo`s was also lookin for ages because you know it makes sense lookin you will find one ....

Is it just about sitting a bit lower, I dont think so? Having had both standard 182 seats and these I would rate the recaro's so much more highly.

Never sat in a 182 with Recaro's. Are the side bolsters tight?? They dont look it

Iv got a Escort as a run about and bolted in some rs turbo Recaro's and their the best seats iv ever sat in !! I thought the 172 seats were fine but they dont come close to the rs recaro's.

Saying that, i think anyone who spends upwards of £500 on a set of 2nd hand 182 Recaro seats are off their rocker!!

As a £500 option (which they were) then yes, as a £1200 aftermarket mod, I doubt I could justify the expense!

my 197 Recaros are sexy:cool:

Your teasing me man they look like good seats. About 3 weeks ago there were 2 Racing Blue's with Recaros one on pistonheads and the other on autotrader but both ae now gone.

Ohh well.

Greg

10mm lower seating postion for all that cash

Is that all  they'd still be high:(
In the vee I feel like i'm sitting on the roof :dapprove:

The best ones i've ever sat in were in my 20vt plus (black ones with red stitching:approve: not sure what they're called though)

  Tangoed Works
have to say for 1200, they are an absolute knock. weigh a ton and 10mm lower?? Thats f**k all difference. If I were you get some proper reclining buckets. Only good thing about them is that they match the 1*2 interior.
