Recommend me a polishing/finishing pad

Got a Meguiars DA for Christmas but it didn't come with any pads. Anyone recommend me some reasonably priced ones?

I'm going to be using the DA mainly for applying prima amigo glaze. I have considered using the DA to apply wax but think this is probably best done by hand? I also got a pot of Autoglym HD wax.

Chemical guys hex logic pads get good reviews so maybe look into using them. I'm using sonus pads which I'm very happy with but if I was to buy again I'd go with the hex logic just because a lot of people rate them. I've got the blue hex pad for glazing but I haven't used it yet so I cant really comment on it.

Theres nothing wrong with waxing via da, I've done it in the past with a liquid wax and it was great. If it was me I'd apply HD by hand but by machine is fast and very easy to get a very thin layer. You could always try both ways and see which way you prefer.

Also might be worth thinking about getting some 4inch pads because these can be pretty useful when working on a clio.

I'd be tempted to opt for the black hex pad, had some really good results with it over the softer pads like the red and blue.

Use it as my go to for finishing compounds, cleansers and applying powerseal. It's just a really versatile pad IMO

Yeah forget about the wax via da mate. Some sealants are nice via DA like Z2 and AF power Seal, Project Awesome but I prefer via hand.

Get a nice Hex finishing pad. I'd go for the Blue one incase you pick up a cleanser or something like Auto Finesse Tripple..

Scrooge teach you how to use it?

Amigo and HD will look brilliant mate.

I was hoping you'd have some input into this mate ;) cheers.

Yeah I'll probably be asking Ant for a bit of tuition once the weather warns up a bit.

I'm a bit confused with regards to what size pads fit what size backing plates?

I wouldn't personally, any risk to damage the glue that bonds the velcro to the foam could be quite serious if it comes apart when using it on a panel.

I simple use a little washing up liquid and massage it into the face of the foam and lightly rinse it out. come out as new afterwards.

I dont use mine too much, but I've had the hexlogic range for 2 1/2years now and no need to replace any yet

Where in Essex are you?
