recommend me a tripod

Done a quick search but found nothing. Will soon be getting my first DSLR hopefully (D40 or D60) and i'm looking for a tripod to use it with. What would people recommend? I've heard good things about Manfrotto but don't really wanna spend too much cash :S

What budget are you looking at?

Mine was about £30 and is pretty good, there's a thread on here which was really helpful, I'll see if I can dig it out.

don't wanna be paying any more than £100 for tripod and head if possible, i haven't really looked into it yet though, just getting suggestions at the minute.

You want to be looking at SLIK or Manfrotto ones TBH.

I have one, albeit branded as Hama.

Terrible thing, but then my camera's quite the heavy brute.

They're ok for point 'n' shoots I suppose, but I wouldn't trust a DSLR on one.

Yeah ok it's not a £120 tripod so the build quality probs isn't the best out there, but tbh i havn't had any major problems with it.
