Recommended amps?

Ok, so I've never invested in an amp before. From what I've heard it sounds like a solid investment?

I have a few speakers that will be running off it, i.e. the front co-axials, rear co-axials and possibly rear components. The front and rears are an RMS of around 40-50W but a peak power of 200W. The component in the boot (2 6.5" woofers and 2 6.5" tweeters) will run off this too, it has an RMS of 70W and a peak of 280W.

Another thing is I want to have the potential to add two subs in the future. Is there a single amp I could get that would meet this specification?

I've tried reading up on the topic and I'm unsure so thanks in advance :)

Cheers =D

hia mate, i new on here but have a very good knowledge in the car audio sector .

the alpines are good, but you can get much more for cheaper.

what you are after cant really be done by using just one amp, however it all depends what you want.

your best approach to this would be to a decent set of components for the front, and amp these from a 4 channel amp using the 2 front channels.

i would power your rear speakers of the headunit but fading more towards the front to reduce distortion and this will put more of the sound stage to the front and give a much better sound. but still leaving some sound for your rear passengers.

this would then leave you with 2 channels on the amp to use for 1 decent sub. this is all you will need to get a decent amount of bass if you go with the right kit.

if you wanna give me some details on your budget then i can give you some recommendations.

just to give you an idea of how into this i am , here is the link to my build in the clio

You bought a vibe amp... Seriously?!

Look mate, if you want to get the best bang for your buck, go to any FourMaster car audio specialist to help you out, even if it's just for advice and not install.

I went to my local dealer who litterally hooked me up with the best for my budget and it honestly blows me away.

Take a look on there matey

My own car is setup with a full Hertz system, no boot space lost at all. <3 flat sub

Anyway, I hope this helps :)

1clio6 - I'm also on talkaudio - i still think your not right in the head for doing what ya doing with your clio, each to their own though.

01chris02 - when it comes to buying amps, avoid Soundstream, Boss, SplX, Mutant and most definatly Inphase, avoide IPA or Inphase like the sodding plague. I'll tell ya why if you really want to know?

notice throughout the build, i dont mention the vibe amp once. yes being its a pile of s**t and i got if for free :p was just somefink to run my comps on for the time being. this was replaced with a jbl amp and i now have an audio system amp doing the job. 500wrms into each door ;)

definetely face to face advice is much better as its easier to explain things so as dom said, if you have any audio specialists in the area you can visit, do that :)

yes john its extremely mad, but when you get bitten by the bass bug, theres no going back. as it is right now, i can reverse all what i have done done no damage to the car. but why would i want to do that haha ;)
