Redlining 1.2 8v

Right, Im sure someone knows the answer to this, I got a MK3 book with my MK2 (thanks Renault Worthing) which is about as specific as a lemon to my car.

Where does the MK2 1.2 8V redline, my rev counter doesnt have any indications on it although it goes to 8k, and my speedo goes to 160+! Seems kinda useless having it without it showing the limit.

Anyone know?

5750.. or sometimes, when it feels like it, 5250 for some reason.. and even when its been running for an hour!

I have a Mk1, but it uses the same 1.2 8v engine as the new ones..

Mine gets hit lots. I like the sound too much.

my 1.2 16v i think is about 5000 revs, doesnt really accelerate well past that.

I know mine will sit at just below 5k at about 100mph, but I do find it odd that theres no indication where the limit might be, although I whenever Im doing 100 its normally by accident cos I dont make a habit of it!
