Refitting cat help...

  Audi S3 225
Hi, just a quick question i wanna refit my cat to my mk1 172, had a look and tried myself but cant seem to get to the bolts they are really tucked away and its almost impossible to get any sort of tool up there.

What do i need to get the cat off and also does the lamda sensor just screw out, is it best to get cat off then unscrew lamda sensor. Mine is the 1 sensor model with the double cat convertor.

Thanks

Allan

Lambda sensor just screws out.

As for the bolts it's a two person job, one hanging over the engine bay with a 10mm spanner and the other underneith with a 10mm socket on an extension, there's little room but once you've done it a few times it's not too bad. (unless you're a midget like Little Chav Newms and can't reach over the engine)

yeah, sometimes the probes go uber tight, just unclip the cable off the sensor with the ignition off then remove the cat, at least with it off on the floor it makes the job easier
