Refurbed my OZ F1s

Bought some OZ F1s a few weeks as I was after a set of 15s for track use. I could have just put some decent tyres on but decided to have an attempt at refurbing them.

These were probably the worst two.

Trip to Halfords and I had the items needed for the refurb. Also used a file and wet & dry grades 60, 240 and 1200.

And then after couple costs of laquer

Total cost = £45.63 for 2x Primer/Paint/Laquer + 240 grit as I already had other bits.

They're not 100% perfect as there's still some tiny imperfections but for my first go at refurbing wheels I'm really pleased with results :D

Got some R888s to wrap them in now as well

Waiting a few days for paint to harden before having tyres fitted then they'll be on the car.

Sure your valver wheels would come up nicely. Was it you that hit the cone in Surtees then?

wow, they look great, the lacquer really finishes them off, i've never been that lucky/good using spray can lacquer and end up with that nasty orange peel finish, good job!

It's all about preparing them properly for the primer. Those are the last two I did and I learnt from my mistakes. First two I finished I wasn't happy with so took them back and started the prep again.

Touching up damage on fresh wheels is easy as though!!!

I thought they'd be a bugger to refurb due to the "double lip" type thing they have going on?

You'v made a nice job of those mate, makes me want to do another set, but then I remember how much I hate sanding them down! lol!

nah the douple lip is easy enough to hand sand mate the rotary will fit in the rest of it pretty much think will wait untill i have done the discs pads and calipres then mask off the car and flash them on the car and do the bolts at the same time
