refurbing alloys - quick question or two

right my g/f has scuffed two of her dynamique alloys, when alloys get refurbed what do they do to the scuffs, do they build alloy back up using compounds? just thinking of getting them sorted for her.

metal filler if they are deep scuffs. if shallow i think they use filler primer:S

As above, but for shallow scuffs, sanding them right down would work.

Alot of smart repair companies build up the scrapes etc with a gel at .5mm layer at a time and spray with a activator, doesnt vibrate out and sands to a perfect finish, each layer takes approx 60 seconds to go hard and ready to sand.
