My car currently has a BMC kit and full powerflow exhaust system.

Do you think there is any point in getting my 172 remapped? Will it make a difference?

a remap will alwats make a difference mate, but it will be more for power delivery and driveablilty that power, though with a few breathing mods you should gain a few bhp

As above...Don't expect huge gains...3-7bhp is typical...But the Power curve and deleivery should be more linear!

I didn't make any more power in the vee after getting mapped. Although mid range torque was alot more. That was good enough for me.

A custom remap from RSTuning should do nicely. I think there's a before and after dyno around here. I think it was a 8-10BHP increase through the revs.
