remote locking / key not working

as title says the button to unlock the car on the key isn't always working alot of the time. the light flashes as though it is working but nothing happens most of the time but it does sometimes work. Changed the battery in the key and still having the same problem. any ideas as this is a right ball ache being that the only manual lock is on the passengers door

Have you dropped the key at all? I had this, I'd dropped one of them, it needed re soldering inside.

not that im aware of but the key does look pretty knackered in fairness, so where can i go with this problem then? or is it a do it myself thing?
