Remove aircon/pas can you just use a shorter belt?

Going to be removing my engine within the week sometime, I'm fitting electric steering and removing the aircon but can you remove the pulleys an just fit a shorter belt instead of going down the route of pulleys as obv there's some without aircon so I presume you can just put that belt on? But what about the pas?

Aslong as the belt inst too tight or too slack it it will be fine,

Im on doing it now in my project thread, You need 2 brackets if i remember from the renault 5 to mount the alt (1 is a slider tensioner) and a shorter belt
