remove front arb for corner weighting?

Hi somebody told me to cornerweight a car you have to disconnect the arb?
isn't that a bit of a pita on a clio?:S

Not really, yours are ontop of the wishbones where as non sports have them underneith the bones.

Pritty simple to disconnect BUT wouldn't having the anti role bar on after corner weighting make an adverse effect ! :/

i would think so too, wishbones at different angles would mean the arb would be under tension when static right?

probably this would only apply to cars with adjustable droplinks?

If you disconnect them, then when you reconnect them they will transfer load across them if you dont have adjustable links, so for a fixed ARB, its better to leave it in place during setup.

Ok, this is an old school trick... Not as straight forward as just taking the front one off to make it work out worthy...
You'll need to dramatically increase the rear arb size, remove front arb, stiffen up the dampers all round and spring lb/ft rating also.
The outcome is great for track cars, especially old motors like the 205GTI and such (this is where my experience of this is from). It will allow a lot more traction on sharp turn in and allow greater speed to be carried through a corner!! Add this to a gripper diff (track not rally) and you'll be laughing!!
It is doable, and does work, but it's not as simple as just taking the front one off...!!

Why would you want to remove the ARB at the front and rely solely on the front springs to give front end roll resistance?

If you do that then under braking you will get less weight transfer forward than if you use the ARB for some of the roll resistance too.

Flol! I nearly got done for the same thing but 'insufficient evidence' as the in-car camera failed!! Used to get pulled every week pretty much after that until I put a complaint in to the Staffordshire police head honcho!!

Two different areas for me, one in Thurrock, so counted as Essex, the other about a mile from home, so Kent Police.
Should by rights have had my car taken off me on the second as it was within the year, but they didn't, so I decided to quit while I was ahead.

How is it being corner weighted?
With an old Skool lever arm single pressure/strain guage? (Remove the arb link).
Or 4 platforms and a scales computer? (Leave arb connected)
