Remove front seats?

  Jap Box
Hi,

Anyone got any tips on how to remove the front seats in a PH1?

Managed to get out all of the dash, steering wheel, back bench, door cards and pretty much the entire interior apart from the 2 front seats.

Couldnt see any places to unscrew them anywhere, can anyone help? :)

Thanks

Yep, two near the sill, will be covered by rubber bungs and then two in the exhaust tunnel (under heatshield so an extended socket attachment is needed).

Took my phase II seats out today suspect the phase I is the same. As above four bolts under the car. Two nearest the sill are hidden under rubber grommets. Inner ones are accessed via holes in the exhaust heat shield. There is a guide somewhere. 13mm deep socket is required.

as above v simple job all you need is a deep 13mm ratchet bit and you might need to bend your exhaulst heat shield a bit to get to the inner nuts

Ahh balls :( most likely not able to get these out then.

Or would the jack take the car up high enough? Im always wanting the exaghst and cat taken off the car but not able to get under it really and no way to take the car somewhere either

You'd be an idiot to attempt that using just a jack. Axle stands needed. Unless you're skinny, if the cars not lowered might be able to get to them.

As thought, I am fairly skinny but doubt il make it under there, ill see if any mates have stands I can borrow to take the parts off

Yh that involves getting right under the car lol. Unless your really skinny?

Im only just 8stone so I think im skinny enough lol, might just try get few people gathered to flip the car over just before the people come to take it away.

My Clio is lowered on sportlines. Jacked the rear end up with a trolly jack and managed to slip my 13 stone frame under the car with little difficulty. Could easily have got the cat and exhaust off if necessary. Getting them back on correctly on the other hand...............
