Removing 172 steering wheel - HELP

In a word how do you do it, without risking the bloody airbag blowing up in your face. Im going to fit a Sparco Lap 3 racing wheel once I get the damn thing off

Take it to your dealer and get them to lock the airbag computor ,then it will be ok to take the wheel off.

easy, disconnect the battery for 30mins

then you need 2 screwdrivers

on the back there are two metal pins (youll see them if you turn the wheel) you need to wedge the screw drivers under these and then pull the airbag unit off (there is also a clip at the bottom in the middle of the the unit)

The wiring is a bit messy once you get the air bag off

The wheel itself is held on by a T40 torx screw
