Removing 182 oil filter

  Focus RS, 182 gone
I was having a look in the engine ay the other day and thinking about changing the oil, even though it hasnt done enough miles for the 1st service, but when i saw the oil filter i couldnt realy get to it. How do you get to it with enough room to screw it off??? I remember on my 1.8 16v i had to take the bonnet off.

Worth doing a search in the mechanical section on it.

I think people take the injector rail cover off to give more acess to it.

yeah, dead easy mate. you need to take the FRC (fule rail cover) off...

you need a LONG extention and a 10mm socket.

2 x 10mm bolts hidden in the two recesses, you will have to put the extention in first, then connect the wrench.

once it's off you will be able to access to the filter really easily with a removal tool or similar.

Yes. Next you'll need a tool to get the filter off. Best thing for them are a filter socket thing. Do a search on this forum for one, they were mentioned a while ago. Cost under a tenner.
