Removing arch liners....

  RB 182
After Bedford track day my front right wheel has some scrubbing and left a hole in the liner lol.

If I remove the liners, is it better to pop rivet some sheeting over the exposed engine bay area, or can the liner be cut in sections so that it misses the rubbing area and still stay intact?

If I totally remove the liner, will it expose any other areas that might need covering?

Cheeeeeers

Hi Meek, i noticed this on Mikes at oulton-presumably from the hairpin. I was weighing up removing mine next month to save it risking notching the tyres.

Having had a look at the cup racers the other week, they didnt seem to run any but obviously they dont run all the ancilliary wiring as per the road goer.

Would have thought so long as any cabling/conectors are properly waterproofed it shouldnt be an issue?

Out of interest was it the front or rear section of the front liner thats rubbed on yours?

Cheers

Front section, I think it's where there is a little lip in the plastic. I also believe there is a metal breacket behind that, so will need bending...

Liners are goosed on mine too, they used to have a lip but 30 minutes of track put an end to that....aswell as two other huge pieces that virtually just popped off afterwards.

I want to remove mine, could even lower it more but as mentioned I'd be worried about water/dirt getting into places it shouldn't.
