Removing Front Winodws

Does anyone have a guide on how to remove the front windows off A 3 door Mk2 Phase 1 Clio, i am converting them to electric so i need to change the window Regulator inside but i have to remove the window to do this,

cant you remove the door card and take the mechanism out of the bottom whilst having the window still taped into place?

pretty sure i watched that on one of the 'wheeler dealer' type shows
