Removing fuel pump securing ring...

How the hell do I get this securing ring off the fuel pump under the rear seats!?

I need to replace my pump, i've tried the ol' hammer and screwdriver trick but its just eating the plastic away and not spinning at all!!!

What can I use? Anyone have any ideas? 10 minute job my arse

ive used the same emthod its just luck liek try and get the biggest flat head you can find and get it right in the radius big hits also tape the flat head wont eat as quick last one left was lucky!

A bit of WD40 around the rim,let it soak for 10mins then give it a bash.

^^^ just gone down to the car and sprayed some all over it. I'll whack it with the hammer again later.... we'll see

Also see if it will tighten up first as this will sometimes do it.
