What is the best way to remove the gear knob? as i have brought a replacement one.

remove the gator and see how it comes to bits? Gator is easy to remove once you know how. Finger through the ashtray hole to release the clip.

Is there a screw under the cap on the top?

The gear knob on the ph2 clio's is moulded. Underneath the black part that you hold, there's a white plastic thing bonded to the metal shaft. You need to saw off the original. Trust me, been there and done that!

How does it stay in place securely? is there like a compression fit to the new ones? or do you have to glue them in?

The richbrook one I fitted slid onto the shaft, then had a small grub screw that tightens it on.

With luck you can lift it off the shaft!
Apperently mine had little glue applied coming of the factory.

If all fails... use a hacksaw!

sounds like this will be fun!

i will try heating it up first to see if that melts some of the glue!
