Removing optical drive from dell laptop?

my dvd drive is funked and dell are sending a replacement and ive gotta take the old one out, do i need to remove the battery???before taking the drive out they have supplied me with this link,

If its off then it shouldn't be an issue, used to take mine apart all the time.
