How can i remove the rear bumper, without having access to axle stands

And with access to only one jack?

You don't need to jack the car up at all, but it will obviously aid you somewhat :)

Look under the rear of the car and there's 2 (I think) bolts securing the bumper to it.
Loosen the arch liners by removing the self tappers that run down the edge of the bumper.
There's 2 (again I think) more bolts securing the bumper to the inside of the rear quarter on each side.
Undo the 2 torx bolts on the tailgate slam panel.

I think that's it, 30 mins of a job really, just remember to unplug the number plate light! :)

Nice one mr new moderator. :)

Would it be even easier, if i jacked one side , took off the wheel, arch liners, and unbolt one side of the bumper first.

Then put the wheel back on to stabilise the car. then jack the other side, take the wheel and arch liners off, then unbolt that side, then the middle??

Would that be easier??

out of interest.... How did you remove the rear bumper plastic strip? was it easy? I would like to do it along with the front bumper... Today I have had a day of colour coding the door strips and now I am considering the bumpers.. although sanding the door strips was a bi*tch so dunno if I could be bothered..

Would be good to know anyway, just incase I have the energy during the week to do it!

Cheers
Ross ;)

Yes quite possibly but I managed to remove and replace mine on the 182 without jacking it up :)

The only reason would be if you struggle to get to the bolts that are inside the archliners.
