Removing rear wiper?

Has anyone tried removing the rear wiper on a Mk2 Ph1?
I don't know whether it would look good because of where the wiper is situated.. just wondered if anyone had tried it, how they did it and what it looks like?

i think that it looks good and was thinking of removing it. (pic below looks mint).

although i need it quite a bit at the moment so might wait until summer lol.

^^^^^^^^^ umpin car change them f**king lights. Anyway youd have a hole where the wiper is, could get a grommit to fill t but the one above has a full cover...

Yeah that was what I was worried about, getting a cover like that one, best make sure I get one before I de-wiper, don't really fancy having a grommit! If anyone finds one give me a shout (;

The one in that pic looks like the cup racer wiper blanking blanking plate.. pricey for what it is

the plain covers arent available anymore, they were 19 quid anyway, standard one with the hole is 4 quid

I got my grommet from Halfrauds for 2 quid. Looks much tidier tbh.
Most cars with wipers look wrong imo ;) I'm just weird.

Probably stick with a grommet then if I can't find a cover!
Random question.. but I know on Saxos you can wire up the rear wiper to pop the boot once you've de-wipered, anyone rewired it to anything?

Regardless of the merits in terms of looks, is it actually hard to get the wiper arm and motor out?

Anyone have a pic guide etc?

it's real easy, this thread inspired me to do mine, sadly no pics. shud've thought ahead. first lift the cover on the wiper arm,undo and remove the nut, then i used a simple puller tool to remove the arm itself. there's then another bolt holding the mechanism onto the boot from the outside, under the blanking plate.be careful not to break the clips holding the plate on. u then need to unscrew then pull off the trim inside the boot lid. two nuts inside hold the mechanism there, once there out it's simple to pull out, and cable tidy the wires out the way. fill the hole with a 2.49 grommit form the frauds, smooth and paint the plate, job's a good 'un! :D

Is there a particular size grommit that I'll need for this gents? Plan on hitting Halfrauds in the early am for a few pieces before working on the car.

Right, well this isn't happening today. That wiper arm won't budge by hand, pliers or vicegrips ...
