Removing Scratch from plastic on Bumper

This was on when i bought my car, a small horizontal scratch on the plastic of the front bumber, not on the painted section.

The rest of the car is immaculate other than this so want to hide it/remove it if possible.

Any ideas on how to do this, somebody suggested sanding it with very fine sandpaper and then using some plastic trim polish on it but I was not sure what sort of finish this would leave and whether this would make it even more obvious!!

I had a scratch in a plastic bumper, and used a bit of wire wool to sort of smooth it out, then used back to black (Autoglym) - and it worked a treat. If the bumper has a stipple effect it will juct polish a small section of those off - but you dont notice it IMO.

Once the back to black wears off you will probably notice it again though. Keep topping it up and it will be fine.

- You could try T-cut initially if the scratch is very faint - as it has an abrasive cutting agent in it and will still work on plastic to a small degree.

If it is not too bad, why not touch it up with a permanent felt pen in black or whatever the colour is? Sanding it might make it worse.

Permanent pen would show up even more as the red pigments in it show up more in certain light.

Yeah perm pen is shiny not matt - which is the effect yow need.

Go and scratch a similar bumper with a similar scratch to yours on a banger / mates old sh*theap. And see if the chosen repair method gives the effect you want!
