removing sound deadening from engine bay

  CLIO PH1 172
can i remove the sound deadening from the back of my engine bay ?

its a ph1 only reason i ask is because it has heat proof on it so if i take it off whats behind there - i dont want a fire lol

also if i can take it off and people have done before how easy is it to remove or is it a case of just ripping it off??

:S:S

I think the heat shield is the main concern on the bulk head, as it protects the brake lines from the exhaust manifold.

Who the f**k thought it was a good idea to run brake lines next to the exhaust manifold?!

:( did that last night and it made it worse??

mine was black before and very tatty

i gave it a little dyson treatment and now the blacks started to come off and its now turning a sandy colour which looks even worse ffs lol

i think if your top layer has already come away so your left with a sandy colour then it will be fine to hoover it a clean it up

but

if your top layers still on (the black layer) then you should leave it lol or risk doing what i did - hoovering the f+++er off

so now i just want to take it all off completely !!
