Removing the aerial from its base

  2004 iceberg 172
I've got a gay silver bee sting aerial on my car at the minute which i hate. Went out and got a type r one of a guy on here. Went to change them over but i'm struggling getting the silver one out. It seems to be turning but not undoing if you no what i mean? Bit of advise needed!

Whoever originally fitted it could of stripped the thread hence the turning and not undoing.

My advice is to use some mole grips, twist and pull at the same time (it will come off eventually). Just be careful not to damage the surrounding base and paintwork.

If the thread is buggered upon removal then use some `permanent` threadlock before fitting the new aerial, it'll bond a treat. Good luck

I had a similar problem with my aerial! If it won't come out, you need to remove the base and put in another. I got my base from Silverlake scrap yard. Just remove interior light (should just pop out) and undo the small nut on the underside of the base. :)
