Removing the 'inlet manifold' help

Not sure if this is actually what it's called or maybe plenum chamber?

But I want to remove it and paint it, mine looks a little bit worse for wear. Now this is as far as my engine knowledge goes I'm afraid. I'm willing to try and learn new things as always but I obviously don't want to f*ck anything up. So is this a job best left to someone who knows what they're doing or is it safe to give it a go?

I don't want to break any connections or let dirt get into any holes which it shouldn't!!!

Is there a guide on here anywhere how to get one off, what to cover up and what to be careful with?

If not how hard actually is it? Does everything unclip easily enough?

Do you put paper down the inlet? holes to stop stuff falling down?

How many things are there to disconnect? Map sensor needs disconnecting, the coil pack connector just unclips, theres something near the throttle body which just pulls off. Is there anything else?

Thanks for any advice.

2 mins work.

6 or 7 10mm bolts. Disconnect the sensors and vacuum pipes. Tape over lower inlet ports to stop things falling in.

Just unclip all the sensors and pipes that are plugged into the inlet manifold, Think theres maybe 5?ish... then undo the bolts and thats it.
