Removing the stereo/air vent surround facia (ph1)

The stereo/air vent surround on my Ph1 is in need of a respray, but I can't see how it comes off?

Has anyone done this before, and if so, how does this part come off?

Yes, the silver bit. Does it actually come apart seperately? And if so how?
