It isn't possible to remove vocals from an MP3 completely, and even managing to reduce the level it doesn't sound that great. As you are effectively surpressing certain sounds this will have an effect on other instruments on the track at the same frequency. Also effects are often added to vocals which pan from left to right which are impossible to remove. If both channels are exactly the same you may have a bit more success. What do you need it for?
